Artist notes:
These sea swept black lava rocks are sprinkled on turquoise waters of the North Shore of Maui, Hawaii. The green limu growing on the rocks adds a nice contrast to the dark rocks. When I shot this image there were some pounding waves in the distance. And although I shot this as a long exposure in the late afternoon, the white horizon you see in this image is actually the whitewash of breaking waves about a mile off shore.
